This weeks theme at i heart faces is Pets. Instantly I thought of this photo I took of our family dog Zane. He is known for his abnormally large tounge that tends to be always hanging out of his mouth and this day I caught him having a relaxing nap on my couch. ;)

This weeks challenge over at iheartfaces.com is "best face photo" of Feb. 2011. I had a really hard time choosing a photo for this contest. I had so many cute newborn faces and baby faces that I could use but after going through many of my photos, I settled on this one. I just love this photo and the emotion that comes from it..
My beautiful friend Ceci. She wanted to surprise her hubby with Boudior photos of herself for Valentines day.

Gray takin' a bath

This morning Grayson asked me if he could have a shower. I convinced him that a bath would be MUCH better because our bodies needed to soak every once in a while to get rid of any dirt that is missed while showering.

Really I just wanted to take some photos of him in the bath.

This is how she dressed for school today. Apparently the boys at school all wear ties on Thursdays so the girls decided that they would wear suspenders. The glasses are an added touch courtesy of Galaxy Cinemas..LOL... How cute is she?

My blog has been totally neglected now for about 6 months. I honestly have no idea how many of you out there can juggle work, family - life in general and still find the time to blog each and every day! My goal, for now, is once a week but I am sure once wedding season hits us in June and we get so crazy busy, this blog will get neglected once again.

Today is Fix-it-Friday over at i heart faces.com so I have decided to participate. I love this photo. It really is already perfect - such a beautiful candid but I thought I could add some more color and funk it up a bit.

This child is one of my favorite little girls but she has always been the WORST to photograph. No jumping, singing, funny jokes or tickling will get this little girl to crack a smile. Usually. Her mom (one of my closest friends) was able to get a smile or two that I luckily caught. The so serious photos are definitely her though and a smile sometimes isn't even needed..:)

Gray and Daddy were playing some catch in the front yard yesterday afternoon and he was doing such a great job cathing the ball so i of course had to run and grab my camera. I got a few shots in before, instead of catching the ball, it hit him right in the mouth! My poor boy. I of course like the warm nurturing mother I am, kept taking photos ;)
I swear I hugged him right after!

It's been a while....

I haven't blogged in AGES I know. I'm brutal. I was debating on whether on not on just deleting my blog all together but decided to just make a blog post instead. I do hope to update regularly but my regularly is probably not what others would consider regular. ;)

We have had a pretty relaxing Summer so far other than the 3 day heat spell we had where I almost melted and died. I pretty much spent those days in a bathing suit lounging on my back porch, too hot to do anything. Now that that is over, I can attempt to finish painting my living room/dining room this pretty yellow color called "Spiced Curry". More like mustard I would say.

It still needs 2 more coats which I will be putting on very slowly.. I hate to paint.

This past weekend we spent each day at the beach having picnics and lying in the shade. Nik and I had a bit of a break from photoshots (except for one early Sunday morning) so it was a nice and relaxing,well deserved,break.

It's been a while since Nik and I have gotten our brows waxed. All last year we went every two weeks faithfully. Life got busy and we went back to our old bad ways of tweezing (you know how it is when you just cannot let those yucky hairs stay, it's like an itch you get and can't help but scratch)
Anyways. I brought my camera along cause I needed some new blogging material. Nikki forgot hers and because all of the photos she took with my camera of me are all up the nose nostril shots I am not posting them but will post her instead. :D Love you Nicole Miller XO

My zaney, quirky, crazy, hilarious, loveable, cute middle child.
Sunday afternoon he was antagonizing his brother and sister (as usual). After continuously asking him to behave and to "knock it off" and "that's enough"He did not. I turned around and said, "why can't you be good like a normal child?" He looked at me all serious and said "because I don't have a normal mother". <3

I had all these different ideas in my head and this past week was going to test those ideas on my very willing model, my daughter. Instead life got busy and I didn't get a chance to get outdoors to play and so I have chosen a photo that was taken just a few weeks ago of my girl. I wanted a photo that was not just a black and white photo but instead had a "dramatic" look to it. Although everyones interpretations are different, I think this photo is a great capture of black and white dramatic photography. :)

How beautiful is this child? :)
She had been bugging me for bangs and layers for weeks now. The layers I was ok with but the bangs had me a little scared. Her and I have the exact same hair. Thin and fine. And bangs just don't work well unless you curl, straighten or put product in them. Every day. Well she whined at me all day to take her in to get it done and I finally agreed. So after we all went swimming at the Y, she and I went. And I rather like the bangs!

My regular fix it:
Edited in PS first using curves and levels to brighten.
USM to sharpen overall photo. Then sharpened eyes again. Dodged/Burned eyes.
Erased a bit of the skin for more smoothness.
Adjusted hue/saturation to add brighter color.
Levels again.
Cloned out snow on hat.

I think that's about it.

Yesterday Chris took Hayden to play basketball at the school close by and so Grayson and I tagged along. ( I was promised with coffee if I went) so I of course brought my camera to take photos of them and instead bribed Grayson with a loonie to pose, stand and do as I wish for some photos...LOL.

Only ONE MORE I kept saying finally he said "ok, for TWO dollars,Mom"!

I figured I would start one considering Nik has her own for more personal use and at times I would like to share some of my own photography aswell as some photos of my three beautiful children.
Today I should be cleaning my house but instead we went for a walk. I figured some fresh air would be good after we all are getting over the flu. I made the kids pose for a few photos for me and so I will share :)
